Avoiding Confusion

Due to almost a century of misinformation about hemp and marijuana the distinction between the two has become unclear to the many and some even consider the two plants to be one in the same. Because of this, the terms are often used interchangeably, which has created difficulties when understanding the usage and benefits of Hemp vs Marijuana.

So, what exactly is the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?

Hemp v. Marijuana

Hemp and Marijuana both derive from the Cannabis Sativa family, so they do share certain similarities; however, due to each plant’s biological structure, they have several very distinct and crucial differences.

The chemical nature of cannabis is complex. The flower (bud) possesses many dozens, if not hundreds, of cannabinoids and hundreds, if not thousands, of terpenes and flavonoids. This chemical complexity manifests in a wide-variety of potential experiences with the plant.

Hemp has considerably more CBD than marijuana and only negligible traces of THC, the chemical that gives marijuana its psychoactive effects.

The plant must have less than 0.3% THC to be legally defined as Hemp. When comparing Hemp vs Marijuana, this is a huge distinction; while Hemp contains a very low concentration of THC (0.3% or less), Marijuana is abundant in THC with concentrations between 15% to 40%.

The cannabinoids in CannaFOCUS are derived from hemp. Hemp has been cultivated by humans for thousands of years and is grown in many parts of the world with multiple uses. It is also an earth-friendly plant that is highly sustainable and renewable.
